Session Type: Structured Poster Session
Authors in this structured poster session constitute an intergenerational group of ethnographers, who are exploring how common theoretical perspectives support analysis of the complex and constructed nature of educational opportunities in classrooms, digitally-enabled environments, and/or workplaces in national and/or global contexts. Underlying these studies is a common epistemological logic-of-inquiry in which culture is viewed as a verb (Heath & Street, 2009); that is, as socially and discursively constructed by participants in and across times and events, through spoken and written discourse. The goal of this session is to enable participants to explore the potential development of a new research agenda, one grounded in national and cross-national studies of educational opportunities constructed across disciplines in “local” and “global” educational projects.
