Abstract

With the aftermath of the 2016 election, we woke to a renewed need for our community-engaged scholarly agenda that seeks to advance racial justice. We woke to a reality that needs us to resist oppressive ideologies and systems of white supremacy, and to advance the educational interests of Asian American and Pacific Islander students in solidarity with Black, Indigenous, Latinx, and allied communities. As a follow up from last year’s session, “Race, Politics, and Asian American Education,” we invite you to a facilitated, interactive panel that will highlight pathways, strategies, and examples of building radical solidarities for racial justice. In particular, we will focus on how we, as scholars who focus on AAPI education, can use this as an important opportunity to continue building our community for critical scholarship on AAPIs and racial equity in education.
