This paper session features papers that provide insights into the possibilities of learning in a variety of contexts. Papers on this panel will discuss the following: the power of literacy performance to promote self-efficacy in prison learning spaces, the academic trajectories of undocumented high school students, mothering teens at an alternative school and the importance of authentic care, and science and literacy instruction.
