Session Type: Roundtable Session
Early childhood researchers, practitioners, and professionals have long studied children and childhood(s) through critical and reconceptualist lenses to bring forward more nuanced perspectives on people’s daily life experiences, and done in an effort to challenge dominant beliefs about individuals or particular social or cultural groups. This session foregrounds three studies that emphasize qualitative research approaches. The contributions shared create opportunity for participants to grapple with pedagogies, practices, and research procedures commonly adopted in contexts of early care and education.
