Abstract

This roundtable session presents collaborative research efforts from an emerging project that seeks to analyze cross-cultural experiences of systematic dislocation and “unsettling” (Berry, 1996) or de-indigenizing of land-based communities via formal education. This project is a collaborative conversation among an Inuk hunter and artist from Pangnirtung, Nunavut, Canada, a Canadian graduate student of education and Buddhist activist, a graduate student from Tajikistan, and an American EcoJustice teacher educator and scholar.
