Abstract
In this round table session understanding the nature of science by students from diverse backgrounds is explored. The papers in this session collectively examine students in a variety of contexts ranging from elementary school, high school, university internships as well as urban vs. none urban environments. The impact of specific learning unit design and teacher practice overall on student understanding of the nature of science will be discussed.
