In this proposal, we analyze, theorize, and problematize the nature of neoliberal ideology in education through the medium of citizen documentary. Citizen documentary is a form of research and reporting performed by everyday people who seek a role in the process of collecting and disseminating ideas and information. Citizen documentary offers a means to examine and confront social inequities through the documentation and mobilization of visual forms of social justice scholarship. We aim to honor the diverse cultures and backgrounds that not only make our world unique, but also contribute to our personal and community growth (AERA, 2018). This proposal aims to advance a means to examine and confront social inequities, which can be utilized in social justice scholarship.
