Student Teachers' Concerns and Stress Experiences in the School-University Partnership "School Adoption"

Mon, April 16, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Sheraton New York Times Square, Floor: Second Floor, Empire Ballroom East

Abstract

The model ‘School Adoption’ has been developed in teacher training in Norway and in the meantime is being carried out in several European countries as an internship concept. During the so-called “adoption week,” student teachers teach all lessons at a school, while the teachers engage in further education. Faculty staff members from the university work intensively together with student teachers and teachers. The overall goal is to develop a form of cooperation that can support the professionalization of the student teachers as well as the development of the participating school. This paper reports on the concept of the model and on results concerning student teachers’ concerns and stress experiences with the school adoption at the German University of Flensburg.
