The purpose of this study was to add to the limited body of knowledge about edTPA and to explore the answer to the question: Which elementary and secondary student-level and preservice-teacher level variables significantly predicted edTPA scores among preservice teachers? It is important to consider this question since many states and institutions of higher education are transitioning to full implementation of edTPA, and teacher licensure may be dependent on passing this assessment. Within groups at the student-level, there was both a content area and grade-level effect found in this analysis. Of the level two, between preservice teacher variables, the same variables were significant predictors as level one, with the addition of teacher gender and undergraduate classification.
