Teacher Efficacy in STEM Teaching

Abstract

Many teachers, specifically preschool teachers do not have the knowledge properly implement STEM education in their classrooms. The purpose of this study is based on the hypothesis that the workshop model will have a positive effect on early childhood teachers confidence and self-efficacy in STEM subject content and teaching. T-STEM survey data helped to address the following questions of the study (1)To what extent, if any, does participation in the project increase early childhood educator’s confidence and self-efficacy in STEM subject content and teaching? And (2)To what extent, if any, does participation in the STEM Learning in the Early Childhood Classroom project increase early childhood educator’s knowledge of 21st century learning skills and STEM career awareness?

Author
