Candidates Define a Teacher Change Model That Supported Self-Efficacy

Abstract

This study examined how pre-service teacher candidates perceived the effectiveness of their clinical practice. Participants included 107 candidates. Data sources included surveys and focus group interviews. Findings revealed a teacher change model developed from the candidates' emic perspective of the teacher preparation program. Development of teaching self-efficacy was fundamental to the change process.
