Abstract

Students are the recipients of the evidence-based programs.
This portion presents a case study of a program for academically talented students that is structured around theory and research on the development of talent within domains. Using a variety of outside-of-school program models, the case study illustrates how talent development pathways from early childhood through adolescence can be created to assist students with domain specific talents. Programming models begin with non selective enrichment programs for young children; move to models that select on domain specific abilities and focus on the development of skills and core content knowledge; and culminate with models that immerse students in authentic work with domain professionals.
