Media Literacy--the set of skills needed to critically assess information--is increasingly seen as essential to 21st century democracy, civil engagement, and more importantly, education. However, previous research showed that despite preservice teachers’ positive attitudes and high intention to teach the concept to students, they do not possess the pedagogical knowledge and tools to implement it. We therefore designed an intervention based on the Theory of Planned Behavior to help them translate their intention into actual practices by supporting implementation exercises. We conducted a qualitative analysis of the intervention’s effect on preservice teachers’ intention to teach Media Literacy in their future classroom. Our findings highlight benefits and challenges of the intervention. Finally, we provide recommendations for educators and administrators.
