This study aims to evaluate the nBrowser learning environment, an intelligent web browser designed to support student teachers to acquire online information while designing technology-integrated lesson plan. Two versions of nBrowser was randomly implemented. The dynamic version converged the network to an optimal arrangement based on the learners’ usefulness ratings of online resources. 68 students were involved in this study. Findings revealed that there was an interplay between network-based domain model properties, system recommendations, and students’ information-seeking behaviors. The spreading activation algorithm was also proved effective in updating link weight values to reflect their usefulness. This study can inform the building of multi-dimensional network-based models to provide learners more adaptive and personalized system recommendations.
