The Critical Life Writing Approach: The Life of a Female Boxer

Abstract

This study follows the critical life writing approach which documents the life of a female professional boxer. The critical life writing approach is a way to challenge the status quo by engaging the lives and voices of the marginalized. This sort of intersectional approach talks back to deficit-depictions of disability, gender, sexuality and race while also resisting accepted social models of the same. The objective of this study was to write the life without imposing artificial coherence.
