This paper discusses educator experiences as participants in a National Science Foundation (NSF) funded environmental digital storytelling project entitled #60Above60. The major component of the #60above60 project involved the digital exchange of student-led 60-second videos between classrooms in the DC metropolitan area and Arctic urban communities. Through these exchanges, students shared urban life perspectives across the 60-degree parallel, which is how this project defines “Arctic.” This interdisciplinary project promotes global competency, environmental literacy, and student voice and agency through students' examination of both local and global environmental challenges, and potential solutions.
