Fri, April 13, 2:15 to 3:45pm, New York Hilton Midtown, Floor: Third Floor, Trianon Ballroom

Abstract

The objective is to get insights into interventions of 15 secondary schools that support the development of a culture of professional collaboration. During three school years, four sources of data were collected: 1) project documents, 2) interviews with the project leader and school leader, 3) focus-group interviews with 4 to 8 teachers, and 4) teacher questionnaire school culture of professional collaboration. The schools are in various developmental stages of establishing a culture of professional collaboration. Moreover, schools developed their culture of professional collaboration over time. Teachers’ perceptions of a culture of professional collaboration became more positive after one year of school interventions, but decreased after two years although still significantly higher than at the beginning.
