Abstract

This study highlights the professional experiences of former student-affairs professionals turned faculty. Of particular interest is a better understanding of how their previous professional identity and socialization in student-affairs informs their work and approach to the profession. Preliminary findings reveal a misalignment in values, over commitment to service, and limited connectedness with both students and peers.
