Through the lens of perezhivanie, this study explored an international faculty’s lived experiences of teaching. Using a case study, researchers examined how the faculty used her perezhivanie to engage in preservice teachers’ learning to teach. Researchers conducted interviews and identified difficulties related to teaching: language-related issues, cultural differences in classroom behaviors, academic standards and grading systems, perception, and adjustment and forms of mediation. The findings also reported the nuances of her emotional and cultural expressions. This study contributes to the the research on constructivist theory: perezhivanie and international faculty retention in higher education.
