Translanguaging in the Stories of Multilingual Children examines a representative case example of the storytelling of a multilingual, lower SES preschooler telling stories in a small group activity. The case shows the way that children in the larger year long study responded to the ideas of their peers, told diverse genres of story, and used translanguaging practices moving flexibly between English and their home language. Evidence from the case demonstrates the value of child-led discourse in the preschool classroom for occasioning varied ways of using language to develop and extend shared ideas, building valuable experience with language in the process.
