Improving Student Attitudes in STEM Through a Project-Based Robotics Curriculum

Mon, April 16, 12:25 to 1:55pm, New York Hilton Midtown, Floor: Third Floor, Americas Hall 1-2 - Exhibit Hall

Abstract

This study presents our first iteration of designing and implementing an afterschool robotics curriculum for upper elementary students in a community center. The designed curriculum aims to integrate engineering, technology and science learning using a project-based approach to engage students in STEM learning. The preliminary results provide insights for the curriculum redesign and second implementation. In the presentation, we will discuss the lesson learned for redesigning and implementing the curriculum in details. Implication for educators interested in integrating STEM learning experiences through robotics activities will also be discussed.
