Classroom video used in teacher professional development (TPD) provides rather holistic and situated resources, but teachers might concern about the exposure of being videotaped. This topic was explored by using the nonverbal data from a video-based TPD training which aimed to enhance productive classroom dialogue in the south of Germany. Six teachers were observed in terms of posture, gesture, facial expression, and eye contact while watching their own teaching practices. In four interconnected workshops, shame, defense, and distraction appeared more often than laugh and surprise. Also, defense and distraction tended to increase chronologically. This study shell shed light on understanding teachers’ attitude, emotion, and engagement, and draw the attention on how to encourage teacher participation and to deal with self-consciousness.
