Since the professionalization of the principalship at the turn of the twentieth century, researchers have demonstrated an interest in how principals spend their time. Although the influence of principals on educational outcomes has compelled researchers’ continued study of principal time use, researchers have utilized the same methods for collecting data on principals for over a century. The purpose of this study is to explore the feasibility of utilizing a physical activity and heart rate tracker to capture continuous data on how school leaders spend and experience their day.
