The purpose of this study is to develop a framework for use by educators and activists interested in expanding diversity and minority representation in higher education. The first challenge in increasing Black male enrollment in higher education is to locate, question, and understand the data. This paper uses data from a university and considers what to do when faced with a static enrollment number. Hoping to change from passive observers of data to active participants engaged with issues of minority representation, the team of authors document the steps they took in achieving this end and create a spiral model of questions.
