Using a qualitative case study design and framed by the technology-based teaching and learning, and linguistically and culturally responsive content teaching (LCRCT) in teacher education, this study explored how a multimedia learning platform that combined teaching video and VoiceThread, called VT project, enhanced the participating teacher-learners’ critical reflection and practice of LCRCT for English Learners (ELs). Analyses showed that the VT project model promoted a critical habit of mind among teacher-learners through opportunities to attentively notice and critically reflect on one’s own and others’ teaching practices. The participants also demonstrated a shared ownership over their teaching processes, while establishing a reflective discourse community in which the LCRCT framework guided their identity and practices as LCR content teachers for ELs.
