Sat, April 14, 10:35am to 12:05pm, The Parker, Floor: Third Floor, Azekka Room

Abstract

School-work partnership is required by the methodology of School-Work Alternation (SWA) programs which are compulsory for every kind of school by the recent educational innovation with different aims: to support students not only in the acquisition of basic knowledge, but also in the development of skills useful in the world of work; to bridge the gap between formal learning and society’s needs.
With the awareness that norms are not sufficient enough to promote perspective’s changes, a qualitative study, based on seven focus groups with teachers of different schools, was carried out in order to investigate what beliefs teachers have relatively to the new methodology, and what actions they implement to support the strong partnership required with workplace organizations.
