Our paper responds directly to the call for proposals which asked, “What does it look like to do qualitative research that seeks to dream and create possibilities for education?” Through thinking with theory and writing, we produce and advance new concepts: pedagogies of sustainment. In our paper, we discuss how these both smooth and unsettle our becoming post-qualitative scholars. We share examples of how pedagogies of sustainment support scholarly activities that aim to produce newness. We share our pedagogies and hope they produce possibilities that may also support new ways of becoming, being, thinking, teaching, and dreaming about qualitative research in education for others.
