Obtaining the superintendent position is the slowest to integrate women and is the most difficult of all K-12 administrative roles for women of color to obtain. This study presents experiences of Latina superintendents and gives voice to a historically marginalized group. The life history of these Latinas provides a deeper understanding of the individual experiences of Latinas as they advance to the superintendency and will guide educational leadership programs with adequate resources for aspiring female superintendents.
