This study describes perspectives of feedback provided for student teachers by the cooperative teachers and university supervisors. The purpose of this research is to understand what factors impacted the perspectives and quality of feedback teacher candidates received during their student teaching experience as well as its influence on their instructional skills. Six student teachers, six cooperating teachers, and three university supervisors were interviewed and completed surveys that asked them to describe the feedback experiences in their 16-week student teaching assignments. Qualitative data were analyzed using open coding, and constant comparison methods. Findings described the content and characteristics of feedback, feelings about receiving and providing feedback. The implications of providing growth-oriented feedback during fieldwork were discussed.
