The purpose of this study was to investigate the similarity between early adolescents’ time perspective and their parents’ time perspective. A total of 200 pairs of junior high school students and their parents participated in the questionnaire survey. The results of the hierarchical linear model showed significant relationships between early adolescents’ and parents’ time perspectives in the within-early adolescent-parent association level. The results of the hierarchical multiple regression analysis showed that even after controlling for other related variables, parents’ future time perspective influenced early adolescents’ future time perspective, and parents’ present time perspective tended to influence early adolescents’ present time perspective. The processes of developing a time perspective are discussed.
