This study investigated the differences in estimated category characteristics on the PANAS item pool by applying the nominal response model to data from American and International students in order to explore how items and response categories may function differently for subsets of the population. PA and NA reflect dispositional dimensions and analyzed based on the category response curves and information curves for each item.
