This study created a narrative space within which two researchers, a mother and daughter team, while evaluating a social justice educational project explored our identities as women, family members and researchers honouring our contention that identity-making migrates across personal and professional lives.
Using Narrative Inquiry tools, this study was informed by Feminist Emancipatory Research, Autobiography and Autoethnography, with an emphasis on the political and emotional dimensions of storying.
We gained a deep appreciation of the ways in which the educational intervention shaped our lives and the lives of others. We built an understanding of our conceptualisation of education within a social justice/human rights framework and thus arrived at a deeper understanding of the purpose of education, and its inherent potential.
