One of the most significant preparations for college and career for K-12 students starts with the transition from middle to high school (Balfanz, 2009; Akos & Galassi, 2004). The purpose of this study was to determine ways that technology supported students with differences as they transition from private special education K-8 schools to public high schools. Multiple Case Study methods were used to collect, analyze, and describe the data outputs for 4 case studies. Results showed four broad evidences that support how to prepare students for this transition: Select technologies that students will use, that prepare students for college and career, that provide students with knowledge and experience, and that help students stay organized.
