The study tries to explore how making-centered spaces can be a suitable learning environment that can address the quandary between student achievement and the means to support a meaningful learning environment that engages student interest and positions learners as agents of knowledge construction. By identifying these elements, this study makes theoretical and empirical contributions to the design of making-centered learning spaces and how these spaces can be restructured to educate for innovation. This may have the power to enhance student learning, forming an important discourse in identifying how, instead of a system where high-stakes tests are administered, would an alternative learning environment centered on making and creating be conducive to ignite curiosity and interest to keep students purposefully engaged.
