Abstract

This study is concerned with the central issues of civic engagement and political efficacy in 21st century democratic societies across the world. To examine influential factors on civic engagement and political efficacy, this study uses Hierarchical Linear Modeling (HLM) and OECD (Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development) data to examine various factors at each country’s individual and national level. The present study is expected to contribute to an understanding of the relationship between post-secondary education and the realization of democracy across the world.
