This project explores the efficacy of a reading comprehension intervention using a multiple baseline single subject design with three students with mild disabilities in upper elementary grades. Using reading comprehension strategy instruction techniques that have been shown to be effective for students with learning disabilities and multilingual learners, the intervention is designed to support students’ critical literacy skills, in which readers consider social identities and advantage, view an issue from multiple perspectives, agree or disagree with the author's meaning, and take action for social change.
