Negotiation of Multiple Identities in Online L2 Learning

Abstract

Considering that eTandem includes two different language speakers who play the roles of learners as well as experts simultaneously, learners’ identity construction can be dynamic. I conducted ethnographic multiple case studies of Korean learners and English language learners in a Midwestern city in the United States (U.S.). The flexible nature of online context and both teaching and learning experiences provided helped the second language learners develop their second language and intercultural knowledge.
