This study took place within the pharmacy program of a large, public university in the northeast United States. The study examined two years of a newly-developed advisement program implemented with the Class of 2019 and compared it to the Class of 2018. The program was assessed by examining participation rates, faculty advisement, and satisfaction with activities. Results showed that the program was successful at increasing the percent of students receiving advisement and increasing the participation rates in advisement and career related activities. There were some differences in satisfaction with activities, which may help in planning. This study demonstrates a program that successfully contributed to developing public higher education and can be used as a model for other professional degree programs.
