The purpose of this paper presentation is to examine an ethical dilemma approach to case-based pedagogy for leader preparation. Preparing leaders for the ethical dilemmas and moral decision-making is the focus of the study reported. The researchers used a two-tier case study design. Tier one examined case-based pedagogical perspectives. Tier two examined the pedagogical implications of an ethical dilemma approach to case-based learning a doctoral studies program. Data and findings reported in this study draw to the foreground the notion of a ‘web of tension’ surrounding the working lives of educational leaders. Further, data and findings denote that the tensions or dilemmas facing educational leaders are usually people centered and involve contestation of values.
