In this paper we discuss the changes in four STEM professors’ approaches to teaching and understanding of student learning because of their participation at a three-year long and federally funded project on faculty-development. Our project goal has been to widen the implementation of evidence-based pedagogies in STEM education at an HBCU. For this purpose, professors designed and implemented evidence-based instructional strategies and systematically collected data from their students to evaluate the impact of the strategies on their students’ learning outcomes and experiences. Professors reported the findings of their research studies in academic settings and iterated their design efforts. We will report the findings of the data we collected from the professors using both quantitative and qualitative research methods.
