These Political Times Call for Culturally Responsive Measures

Sat, April 14, 12:00 to 3:00pm, City-As-School High School - 16 Clarkson St, New York, NY 10014, School Lobby

Abstract

The NYC Coalition for Educational Justice (CEJ) was formed in November of 2006, harnessing the power of parents and grassroots communities to create a more equitable education system. CEJ works in coalition with a wide variety of stakeholders on its various campaigns, including teachers and principals unions, social service agencies, youth organizing groups, cultural organizations, and much more. In order to advance the CRE campaign, CEJ is hoping to build support from teachers, principals and district administrators who would like to expand CRE inside their schools. This collaboration would help CEJ to identify specific levers for change within curriculum, pre-service trainings, professional development, teacher evaluation, budgeting and other realms.
