Research on special education in Trinidad and Tobago has yet to explore the availability of services for children with disabilities. This study was conducted to determine the extent to which publicly-funded special education services are accessible to students with disabilities in Trinidad and Tobago and whether access to these services differs by disability type. Seventy parents with children with disabilities were surveyed to gain a better understanding of the services their children are receiving and whether parents kept their child out of school. Results indicated that children with autism were more likely to receive occupational and speech therapy than children with other disabilities. Children with autism also had lower odds of being kept at home than those with other disabilities.
