Turkey is one area where the school counseling profession is rapidly growing and face the potential for burnout. The purpose of this study was to create a Turkish version of the Counselor Burnout Inventory (CBI) and empirically tested for measurement invariance using a sample of 272 U.S. and 288 Turkish school counselors. Empirical support was found for all five factors of the CBI with full scalar support for three of the factors and partial scalar support for two. This study provides preliminary support for a psychometrically sound version of the CBI for use in Turkey that will allow future researchers to make cross cultural comparisons for three of the five factors of the CBI.
