Mon, April 16, 2:15 to 3:45pm, Sheraton New York Times Square, Floor: Second Floor, Metropolitan East Room

Abstract

With a growing presence of students of color in higher education, greater understanding of the importance of campus is needed as it can have a lasting effect on academic, social, and psychological well-being. In this study, the authors examine the student experiences of violence and safety on college campuses, particularly among students of color. Using data from the American College Health Association - National College Health Assessment (ACHA-NCHA) biannual assessment of college students, this study aims to inform support services to improve matriculation and foster positive development and psychological well-being through this formative time.
