Fri, April 13, 12:00 to 1:30pm, Park Central Hotel New York, Floor: Mezzanine Level, Liberty Room

Abstract

This paper will present the findings from a pilot study for a set of three performance assessments (cycles) to be used statewide for school leadership preparation and licensure. This pilot study builds on an intensive design committee process and was used to evaluate the feasibility, utility and relevance of the three assessments for statewide use. The objectives of this paper are to: 1) describe the state’s design and pilot study experiences in relation to state policy and preparation program context; 2) evaluate the pilot study score results across the assessments; and 3) compare candidate, preparation program faculty and scorer feedback for feasibility, utility and relevance and implications for improving the assessment design and field testing.
