This study used latent profile analysis to examine middle school teachers’ profiles of stress and coping and associated teacher outcomes. The best fitting model had three stress and coping profiles. The largest profile was a high stress and high coping group (66%); a second was a high stress and low coping profile (28%); and the final was a low stress and high coping profile (6%). The teachers’ high stress and ow coping profile predicted lower self-efficacy and higher burnout, while the low stress and high coping profile was associated with lower burnout. The results of this study suggest the importance of identifying teachers who may benefit from interventions to improve coping strategies and prevent the impact of stress over time.
