Instructional mathematics standards for K-12 algebra curricula recommended by NCTM (2011) emphasize students’ competence on mathematical modeling. According to these standards, all students should be able to use mathematical models to represent and understand quantitative relationship. In order to fully build a complete understanding of mathematics concept can be possible with translating between different representation of functions and draw appropriate conclusions for new representations accordance with their level. In this respect, this study examines quality and characteristics of mathematical model presented by four preservice mathematics teachers through a graphical representation mathematical problem requiring translation between representations.
