Tue, April 17, 12:25 to 1:55pm, New York Marriott Marquis, Floor: Fifth Floor, Carnegie

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to explore the experiences of Black undergraduate women at a predominately White institution in the South following racialized incidents on campus. The study also explored how the campus climate has changed in light of recent local and national racially-charged events. Findings from the study revealed Black women at SESU have varied perspectives in how they experienced, cope, and understood racism. These experiences impacted how they viewed the campus and navigating through college as a Black woman at SESU.
