A review and analysis of empirical research studies published in journal articles and dissertations since 2008, aims to add to the body of knowledge on underrepresented groups in STEM, raise new questions for inquiry, and shed light on empirically-based approaches to supporting Women of Color in STEM. The analysis of the literature reveals three major foci that are interrelated: 1) General trends for Women of Color; 2) How Women of Color experience STEM; and 3) The mechanisms of support that help Women of Color navigate their experiences in STEM.
