The CS for All initiative calls for a broadening of opportunities for students to learn computer science (CS) in schools, which has prompted an expansion of CS-focused professional development (PD) programs for educators. This paper explores how seasoned CS teachers frame their learning experiences in PD: The authentic problems of practice they aimed to solve through advancing CS content knowledge, how they made sense of their teacher-as-learner experiences in a PD series that emphasized the making of artifacts, and how they reflected on their current pedagogical practices as they anticipated incorporating new content into their existing CS classes. We build on prior scholarship and discuss our contributions to the greater landscape of effective PD designs for experienced teachers.
